Lankashire Captain Glen Chappel on 15 September, 2011 |
Glen Chapple, the Lancashire captain lame, sees a bright future for the county after they ended up waiting 77 years for the County Championship title. The victory against Somerset, and the lack of beat Hampshire, Warwickshire, brought a spectacular end to season for a team that had received a blow to the fight against relegation.
Most of the team born and raised in either Lancashire or the surrounding areas and the county are the best use of available talent, intuition, would not be able to invest in human resources. Chapple now believes the likes of Karl Brown, Tom Smith, Simon Kerrigan and Luke Proctor - household names yet - could form the nucleus of a part of success in the years to come.
